Home Catholic Life and Religious Education A Message from our Pastor

Message From our Parish Priest

When your child joins the family of St Anthony’s school, you also join the family of St Anthony’s Parish.  It is my deepest wish that all family members of our students join us to find the joy of celebrating our prayer and community life together.   There are many times throughout the year when the School and the Parish come together in very special ways.

As each of your children progresses through the School, you will receive information about how to join in the Sacramental Program that is organized by the Parish for both St Anthony’s children and Catholic children attending our local State Schools.   First Reconciliation is offered towards the end of Year Two, and First Holy Communion is offered in Year Three, and Confirmation in Year Six.   These Sacraments form your children to be Catholic Christians for the rest of their lives.

We are just starting to build a regular School/Youth Mass monthly on a Saturday evening at Tahmoor.   The School Choir is there, and young people take key roles in the liturgy.   The children that join us obviously take great pleasure in celebrating this youthful Mass with their friends in a very special way, and I hope your family will come to these Masses, if you are not already doing so.   Please watch for these dates in your weekly newsletter from the School.

If you are looking for a way to join into Parish life more fully, and make more friends, there is no better way than to help with one of the many Ministries listed.   You only have to call Cathy in the Parish Office on Tuesdays or Thursdays to be put in touch with the ministry leaders. You will be made feel most welcome.

Most Friday mornings, I am at School to celebrate Mass with either the whole school, or just a few classes.   I hope I can gradually get to know all the parents of our school children over the coming years as we join together as Parish and School.

Yours in Christ,
Fr John Ho
